Has oracle really been laying of thousands of ppl. Can anyone confirm what’s going on? Seems like the situation is bad... https://www.businessinsider.com/oracle-insiders-describe-slow-growth-chaotic-cloud-unit-2019-5
I can't believe it. Don and Clay are such capable, transformational leaders.

Paywall. Can somebody post the article here?
Here are the main points: Employees tell us that Oracle has been quietly laying off thousands of people all spring and that they fear there's more to come. A Wall Street analyst said that Oracle's growth had been paltry at best and that it seemed to be losing market share in its critical database business. Oracle needs its old-school software revenue to stay strong while it remakes itself into a player in cloud computing, a market it entered late and where it trails the leaders Amazon Web Services and Microsoft. Meanwhile, there was a political battle between two cloud groups at Oracle, won by the newer team, based in Seattle. But because that group has very few customers and Oracle is cutting expenses, it was not spared from the layoffs. The situation has left some employees feeling frustrated with what they describe as a chaotic, political work environment.

😂 OCI
Are they still paying outrageous TC in OCI? I'll put up with the politics for a few years. I have lots of practice
Yes, if you joined 4 years ago the TC is great! Until you hit that cliff....
How outrageous? Heard rumors but nothing concrete.
Careful what you wish for...
Yeah they're D-Players at this point

Shocker a company that brings lawsuits to build vendor lock in isn't the first choice for new projects?
