How is the software engineering culture at Nike? I see many long time engineers and leaders leaving the company. Is all the work being sent offshore?
All work transferred to India. Literally only one on the team still in the USA. It's way cheaper overseas
Sometimes I wonder what big corps are thinking. If all the jobs gets outsourced, where the money is going to come from to buy their stuff? Lol Money velocity is one of the most important thing in the economy.

I have worked at TikTok US core tech for 3 years. AMA.
A ton of work is being offshored. And the people making those decisions don’t have to deal with the daily 5am meetings. The problem has been around for a few years now. Our senior leadership came in from a different apparel store & their legacy there is gutting staff, cutting costs, and eventually harming the business over the long term (but they hopped over to Nike before they had to deal with the consequences of their actions). Anyone holding our stock for a long term play has no idea what they’re doing.
Many core teams have had 100% turnover in the last few years. It starts with a director losing their support structure & leaving the company. From there the 💩starts flowing down further, hitting the heads on the ground floor. One person leaves, which increases the load on everyone else. Then another. Then another. Empty seats aren’t backfilled until things break & it’s far too late to fix the situation. I’m waiting a quarter or two. But I’ll be leaving soon as well.
Really? Software is their greatest cost cutting genius idea?
