I'm located in Montreal, Canada and I've recently seen a lot of open positions at Spotify advertised on LinkedIn. They're all fully remote for a variety of tech roles but mostly backend engineer. I personally don't intend to apply, but was curious to know the reason behind what seems to be a hiring spree (maybe this is totally normal and my observation is just biased by the LinkedIn algorithm). Why not apply ? You'll get an easy 80% salary increase
I clearly don't have that kind of technical level lol
Dont underestimate and self-fail yourself bro. Study, apply and findout. 99% of us on this platform with our crazy TCs are imposters.
OP - the biggest challenge in Spotify is to get an interview. They are very picky in terms of who they interview. But the actual interview process is much simpler than many companies. No harm applying or taking a referral.
Can i dm you for referral ?
Now's the time to do it if you're gonna. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/06/15/spotify-slowing-hiring-by-25percent-ceo-says.html
They are looking for employers in all departments to fuel their Ads Business
Their? You left?
Nope
There was some attrition because of low pay (tied to stock collapse that started in early 2021) and some drama about Joe Rogan. Many of the teams I work with have overwhelmingly 1-6 months of tenure in the company. Internal tools show that attrition is high across the company. If you will get an offer from FAANG to negotiate your salary, your manager will only wish you a good luck at a new place.
Can you please refer me for spotify? I can DM you. Thanks :)
Do you mean Shopify? Never seen posting for Spotify in MTL nor I know anyone that works at Spotify in MTL.

What do you think the Fed will do tomorrow?
probably lots of attrition, happening everywhere with the stock market massacre
I saw they were slowing hiring, but I rarely noticed that much Spotify job posts in my region.
