That link title is click bait max.. I believe what did happen is, him advising people to android if they want to understand users better since majority of Facebook users are Android users. It wouldnt be wrong since many companies are focussed on improving experience overall than just focusing on American market which might have a larger ios market

FB built a revenue stream based on sensational (and fake) journalism. Only fitting they’re succumbing to it. Banks went through this in 2008. We profited off of BS loans and then collapsed. We had it coming. At least social networks won’t take down the world with them when they fail. I can simply go back to using the phone to call grandma
If it is true, it is a brilliant move. I'm not an Android fanboy, nor an iOS hater, and neither do I admire Zuckerberg. Developers and managers and execs sitting in Silicon Valley cannot empathize with a global audience that is predominantly on Android and modded versions of Android. Since the US growth has saturated for FB, the next phase of growth will come from markets that will almost never own iPhones. The point here is simple, Facebook has to find it's next growth wave, that wave comes from emerging markets that use Android, and you have to feel the pain of an Android user to build products that are relevant and user-centric.

fb just encourages all employees to use an android company phone, since most of fb users are android users. you can use whatever personal phone you like.
