What’s next after Sr Mgr TPM ?
I would appreciate some help from the community and get some perspective on my next career move. Currently in a FAANG company (5plus yrs) leading a team of Tpms reporting into engineering. I do not see opportunities to grow my scope or team in the current role and evaluating my next career move. Staying the course will eventually lead to dip in my current comp as I am being compared against other sr mgr sdms and the org size and impact is very different and i will always be at the lower end of the spectrum and at a disadvantage. I was a SDE in previous life so can jump into sdm track but I am not very confident how successful wil I be. Another option is to switch companies but I don’t know if a director role outside will meet my current comp. Thoughts? #tech #programmanager TC - 550K
If i were you I’d get ready for director positions. TC At any software company will obliterate $550k pivoting to sdm is a regression imo My current sr director of engineering as actually a tpm for a few years before their current role
