What's the best non software developer job?

Someone who is not interested in hard core coding or software development. What's the best career choice?

How long is a piece of string:) what are your passions? What are you good at? What do you enjoy doing? Doesn't matter what everyone else does.

Consulting is probably the best in what you love

Being a professional athlete or maybe a rockstar. But if you ask your grandma, she'll probably say doctor.

Add acting to that and it's the holy trinity of hypersaturated jobs. For good reason though. Software development also sucks big time if you think about it which explains the median pay being much higher and entry barriers much lower

Isn't there lack of people interested in people relations i.e Manager but with a bit of technical knowledge?

IBM UmmYeah789 Nov 13, 2019

Business Analyst, were you define the requirements for the developers.

Project Manager. Get a PMP and you can manage sw dev projects (or whatever).

IBM SevenFifty Nov 13, 2019

Does a PMP really help with software management? I feel like it's forced from other engineering fields into software engineering. I think product management would be more useful but there just isn't an industry standard certification like PMP.

Why do people need to receive pmp certification to manage projects ?

I mean, systems administration and network engineering are both very profitable while being more operational than software development. The most people usually write are scripts to make their own jobs easier.

Cerner bcrQ00 Nov 13, 2019

DO you really want to be OnCall all the time?

Leidos TheCulture Nov 13, 2019

I never was, did it for 15 years in government before I moved to systems engineering and then systems architecture.
