I am being contacted by a Facebook recruiter for Android position. I was wondering how is it different from a regular SWE role? - Is there any difference in comp? - Would it be difficult to switch to other non-android roles within Facebook? - Any opinions on whether I should interview for a SWE role or I should continue for the Android role?
The difference in the interview process is that you would be asked Android specific questions for Android role..once you join it is up to you if you want to continue vwith Android or be more generic..
No difference in compensation and it wouldn't be difficult to switch to a non android role. I know enough people who get hired as android engineers and end up joining backend infra teams right out of bootcamp and vice versa.
