Google and others hire Temps/Vendors/Contractors through Adecco ($20+/h), Accenture, Vaco ($15-20/h)and other companies. Does anyone have direct knowledge of how much these companies charge in overhead (above employee salary and benefits)? Asking about Silicon Valley. #tech #contractor
Well, I'm a contractor, I can tell that it is more than double if the resource is a sub con, If the resource is a direct employee of these vendors then it's usually 20% to 30% more. If the vendors business model is based on offshoring, then usually the margins for the onshore resource will be little - they make more by hiring couple of offshore resources along with the onshore resource
How did you come by these numbers? Not doubting them, just curious.
I've worked through various vendors, Not saying these are the only kind of breakdown. It's just what I experienced in my recent projects.
Would have to be around 3x? I work independent and charge 2x + my standard full time rate
Ofc a consultant would fail to understand the question.
They bill the client with a number approx. twice more than offer to workers.
Do you have direct knowledge of this? I know a contractor who earns just shy of 100k. I don't know of good reasons why the FAANG wouldn't just hire him as FTE while paying 150k let's say.
Yes direct knowledge. It's much easier for the client to deal with vendors... They save mostly on operations costs when hiring through the vendor company.
Silicone Valley? I like mine all natural
Thanks for catching this autocorrect gem, fixed.
