What's the ramping up time for the product/area you work on before you start contributing?

Start contributing right away with tasks that you would otherwise give to an intern. Benefits of such are you’re making changes right away, getting familiar with your developer tools, and learning the system step by step.

I was making changes in the first week of on boarding, required me to pull some extra hours to understand the stack. But if your doing so make notes on what would have made it easier and prepare on boarding for the next hire. It will help everyone emensly
