Got an offer and wondering how GS benefits compare to my current company Offer TC: 190k
What’s the role/Div? GS benefits are ok, compared to other places it’s still lacking on wfh flexibility, pay is low compared to industry, 401k is pretty good now, sick time 72 hours for the year, typically 4-6 weeks of vacation based on YOE/title
4% + delayed vesting until EoY is pretty good? Naw, that’s < average.
It changed to 6% recently
Nothing really stands out as a huge plus. Benefits are in-line with what you should expect from any large company. Don’t come to GS. It sucks.
Working 100+ hours a week, that’s probably the best part
Depends on the team. I’m not working more than 40 hours
IBD the only one that matters

Major benefit: seeing tech being mad about being underpaid because they couldn't get into a major tech company. Seriously, all they do is complain and make horrible systems then wonder why they're underpaid than the rest of us.
Fucking true…This is the only reason I work for GS.
@elon_melon respect! 😂😂 I have friends in tech though so I'd only talk shit on an anonymous app 😂

Few things: - excellent gym, subsidized but not free. In 200W it’s an insanely nice gym with classes and cheap personal trainers - can arrange doctor visits there - free therapist appointment/intake - currently free meals - may change - tuition reimbursement if you get a second degree - college tuition scholarships for dependents - they had planned childcare in the office - 10 days per year per kid I think. but I’m not sure what that’s like - 5 fully covered therapy sessions per year. In NYC this is an annual benefit of a few thousand bucks. - sponsored wellness programs - they mostly are useless, but some of them are very useful for some people like smoking cessation program
Tuition reimbursement is overrated, it’s only 10K per year pre taxed, 5,250 is non taxable, and you have to stay a year otherwise you have pay it back
It helped me - I got a degree for free!
Having taken paternity in the last year, the 20 weeks was awesome. Rest is on par with other companies.
The vacation policy. 18 plus 10 sick days is relatively generous
VPs get 23 days. NY NJ at least switched to hourly sick time, so it is 72 hours per year. Decent. Would be good if we could carryover more than 10 days every year.
Yeah you start with 18 (already decent) as an analyst and it increases with tenure. My boss has been there for a long time and he takes multiple 2 week vacations each year.
