Getting 0 interviews right now. Applied to places like Medtronic and entry level roles to see what would happen and just got rejected. Applying through career pages/indeed, no referrals. What’s your interview rate right now? Tc 280 Please comment where you’re getting interviews!
Cold outreach on LinkedIn has tended to work well for me. I.e: look for recruiters who are active in posting/reposting for XYX company, connect with or send them a message, and follow up from there. Entry-level is a cluster f*** at the moment, but higher levels are less swamped.
I’m a an sde2 and pretty good. The fact that I can’t even get a call back for an entry level role is nuts
It’s bad , I heard they get 1000 applicants for a job. Imagine a candidate who has worked on some regular CRUD web app apps applies for a job and the hiring manager get a resume of someone who literally invented and implemented a distributed cache (LinkedIn Voldemort), who do you think will be invited for an interview
Nobody?
I would NOT take the distributed cache person to work on a Web App tbh. Different set of skills and probably wouldn’t know how to run/design a user facing web app. For anything backend related obviously that changes
- Application to first call rate: excellent, close to 1 - On-site to good offer rate: 0 It feels companies are just doing interviews practices just the same we do practices with companies we don’t really like
I can’t even get the phone screen setup. Just recruiter call at most
Done about 90 apps, nothing so far
Only from referrals/recruiter reach outs. None from regular apply.
High because I only respond to recruiters who have reached out.
900 applications, 45 interviews. 3 offers in 6 month.
Congratulations 🎉 Which companies gave you offers?
+1
Literally nothing even after many applications
