What’s your morning routine in the pandemic? When do you wake up? I have anxiety issues and usually wake up in the morning feeling depressed. Curious to hear from people so I can get tips to manage it. I’ll go first: I’ve always been an early riser so I wake up at like 7/7:30 every single day. I shower, do my skin care, make myself some coffee, and then just scroll on my phone. I’m trying to work out in the mornings/go for walks with the winters setting in. Wake up at ~6 am and start work out until 8 (alternate between running and weights ever day) Then move on to writing code 🤓
Oh wow you work out for 2 hours? Do you think that helps put you in a strong mental space for work and life? Weird question, but curious
My morning runs don’t last two hours, but one, so I stand corrected. The weight exercises are two. It is mostly because it is something I enjoy doing. It certainly did not start over night, but rather build up over time to get the discipline for that routine. It for sure adds to building up mental strength and also being more energetic for the tasks ahead during the day. Also once you are in really good shape you want to maintain or improve as much as you can because it feels amazing and is something nobody can buy or get to with shortcuts. It is the result of your own hard work like most things in life that are hard to do :)
In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack, I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water activated gel cleanser. Then a honey almond body scrub. And on the face, an exfoliating gel scrub. Then apply an herb mint facial mask, which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

Open eyes at 8:59.. attend standup from bed. Then sleep for an extra hour. Then write 2/3 lines of code.. uber eats at afternoon.. sleep again for an hour .. 5/10 lines of code.. LC at night.. trying to avoid alcohol 🥃 everyday 😂 Sleep around 4 am.

State of the art WLB. I can get away by saying not in a mood to work today. I think I should stay at current job since I get so much free time to prepare for interviews. I think I will never get this kinda job.. 😆😆
8:30 wake up, bathroom stuff -Quiet time/prayer -quick kettlebell exercise -Check calendar to see if I have any “on camera meetings” before noon. If I do, I’ll eat a small breakfast and get more presentable, if not, I’ll stay in my pjs and eat breakfast, check emails 10am - log in and do real work
