I completed all three of my internships with the same company (return offers twice), and then accepted a full time offer with them after graduation. What I'm getting at here is that I have very limited experience in the job hunting process because I really only interviewed for my current company once when I was in 2nd year of uni - everything else was internal. I'm trying to understand an element of the the hiring timeline for small companies (sub 100 employees). When qualified applicants apply via the company's website (no referral), would the hiring manager typically contact the candidate right away if their experience/skills are a possible match regardless of whether the posting is still up, or is it usual for them to not contact anyone until the posting has been taken down once enough resumes have been collected? I applied on Friday for a startup in my area that I'm motivated to join. Posting is still up, one of their senior PMs looked at my LinkedIn on Monday, no word yet. Just trying to interpret this. Impossible to say. Depends on the company.
