At what point are you supposed to inform your employer? I think respecting employers policy is important however it is a big black box of legal jargon. Layman’s terms - 1) When did you inform your employer? How did you inform them? Who did you inform first? (HR/Boss etc?) 2) If I work on my startup on weekends and weekday evenings, can the employer claim my work? How does one protect their rights? 3) at what stage did you get a lawyer involved for legal questions? Trying to stay lean, lawyers are expensive. Add comments/explanation if poll isn’t exhaustive.
