When do you annonce your pregnancy to the team or to the manager?
Is it different times for both? And what week should you expose? How carefully do you have to think about your reviews after the announcement?
Do asap, and do not for a moment think it could or should impact your performance. Behave as if you are doing a public service, which is actually the truth.
It’ll depend on your manager. If your reviews are affected by your announcement then you should quit because that’s garbage. For me, earlier the better so we have time to prepare the team and transfer ownership/knowledge/etc. If it’s your first kid, you’ll really want an understanding manager who can give you some added flexibility going forward. You created a human! That’s freakin incredible and you shouldn’t be worried about how it affects your career. Congrats!

I did after I started showing up, so people don’t have to guess whether I am pregnant or just getting fat. Apparently, only closest female co-workers noticed that my wardrobe changed and I started wearing loose clothing. The rest were surprised to learn. I told after my 20 weeks screening both times.

Tell them whenever you feel comfortable telling people. I waited with my first until 12 weeks. With the second my female manager accidentally guessed and made it much easier.
