Assume that I have a side project with some monthy active users and I may or may not generate revenue. Given this, at what point of time can this side project be considered as having "startup" experience? Is founding a startup considered "official" only if you incorporate it / have employees etc? Or the side project, if scaled a little more, can be considered as one? @amazon @google @facebook @slack @uber @lyft
It's a spectrum. If you're running a project by yourself part time unincorporated and you're making money or getting buy-in on a high growth product that's novel, put it down. If you've incinerated a bunch of money with a bunch of employees in a legit and compliant corporate structure on a lame product with no traction and no revenue, don't. What matters is whether the product is interesting, sophisticated, is something people care about.
Thanks. It's real hard to get that traction. Even harder to find what people actually want.
