Never
That's the dream
I don't think they are ever going to force engineers to permanently RTO!
RTO = relocate to office? Can you elaborate?
RTO = return to office. No more permanent work from home.
Yup. Return to office! I mean Bloomberg has not formally allowed wfh forever since they have 75% of the workforce who are journalists, tv anchors, Bloomberg terminal support team etc. These are the people who might be sometime in the future forced to work from office. For engineers, I think they are going to remain flexible to retain talent!
Hmm very interesting. I am joining bbg soon and am very surprised to hear this because I thought that Mike & other senior management were anti-WFH before covid. I was planning to work remote until we were sent back to nyc
Yea not sure if it's just false optimism to make bbg look good
Don't be too optimistic. We will probably be one of the first big tech companies to return to office. Whatever you've heard about Mike and senior management is right.
When you get your covid shot. Then you are expected to return to office.
1. Pretend to be anti-vax 2. Wfh - forever
Manager told us atleast another year until they expect people back, early 2022
That would be a great scenario. Curious what org are you in? Infra? Terminal apps? Would that make a difference in the whf policy or mostly decided by managers?
I think this is going to be eng wide. 100% sure that they won't call eng before vaccines, and even after that, it'll take a couple months
Saw those plexiglass barrier for engineers. Think it is something that will be pushed earlier.
Nothing like coming to the office to collaborate and sitting in a plexiglass cube
That is so early. Is it engineering? If so what part?
Fwiw I’m in ENG and nobody has even had April In their minds. I could see after July.
Anyone here from AI group.. can you give some preparation tips for coding round? Do you guys ask Trees/graphs?
Tentative, but not before July
Thanks for reply. So if covid is bad/not enough vaccines they will push the date? Are they gathering employee voices and listening to them?
Also Mike i loved it when you ate all those shrooms on the podcast
