BREAKING: Internal sources confirm another round of layoffs just hit emails at Tesla. For real.
I think I'm destined to become a quant or something. This year, my earnings in the stock market finally eclipsed my day job software engineering salary. I made like 300% returns on $TDLA, $SHOP, $ZM. My question is, at what point does one decide to focus on the stock market full time and just quit their day job? Tc 250k
Now
show me your PL graph and i’ll tell you if you’re ready
Can you show us yours to see if it’s worth getting your opinion?
This was a bull market. Don't read too much into it. Replicate the results for 3-4 years before you quit
So you got lucky during a historic bull run. Congrats. Quant my ass.
300% returns and only just eclipsed your day job of 250K? You need more capital to live off the investment returns.
And the gamble begins
Make enough money for an year, then start full time. So that you have backup if you loose and to get a job.
Never.
Market isn't always going to be as volatile as recent months. Kids randomly buying options get 1000%+ returns. See if u get those returns without a covid/election year before making that decision to quit
Do it 3 4 years in a row and then think about it
