I have quit my last job a year ago and trying to get back to workforce. After the pandemic, there seems like no fun jobs anymore. I am not sure if this is because of the interest rate hike or I just got older to feel less stimulated in work. I am okay with having comparatively low salary but I want a fun job that I can feel the excitement. AI seems to be hyped yet I don’t feel that same level of excitement I had before - unless I get into openai, I will just work on their API, engineering prompts, and I know I am not intellectually capable to work in openai. There are a few jobs still makes sense, but they are either 1. Not allowing remote jobs 2. Currently in a hiring freeze 3. In a industry that is declining. I tried to work for money, but earning money for work that I dont enjoy felt like I am a terrible person. I know there is no perfect job and I need to sacrifice some aspect. The problem seems lime that there is not even lightly compensated fun jobs. Last TC 140k, 23yo
