industry revolutions, or industry disruptions as we call it today. Where are we headed, and whats on the horizon? the obvious is AI and machine learning but just thinking beyond that. example: is payment processing here to stay, physical banks going to be around any longer? i might be wrong but AI might not impact this industry much, other than reduce fraudulent transactions. is crypto going to be a thing or are we just moving towards online banks like chime or ally. anyhow, just thought that this would be a great real life/relatable example since all companies now-a-days are online and depend heavily on online payments. what are your thoughts?
Physical banks will disappear as crypto-like structures become more normalized. People shun this assertion, but I see it in person. There are literal coffee shops in Gangnam that take Bitcoin. The new Dunkin that just opened on the strip has a Bitcoin ATM in it. Japan has sushi bars where you can pay in Bitcoin, just small one-off type spots. I'm not "into" crypto but it's hard not to look when this stuff is happening in front of me.
I’m “into” crypto, but I have the same outlook. It’ll be the (relatively) small places here and there that continue to give credibility to the industry, until a time governments can “properly” regulate it, and then blockchain/crypto gets assimilated into everything like any other technology.
keep calm and leetcode on
