In general, in this job market, are there any companies or particular industries that might be up to or close to the six figure mark in terms of salary? I have about 2 years of experience as it stands, making 60k but now even less with inflation. Trying to better my station in life. (I'm a us citizen, from the us). I live in the Midwest and have a math degree. Many thanks.
Tech hub cities are a better bet. The market is not great for early career stage jobs, but you should still be able to do much better than 60k
Yeah, I've been wanting to move from my little town for a long time. Anyway. I spent a lot of time in New York and really like it there. Sometimes I wonder if having my city in Missouri on my resume and my LinkedIn probably precludes me from getting hit up by recruiters.
Just about anywhere
I thought all jobs paid six figures
That's the entitlement in you talking...
@Aurora that’s your entitlement assuming everyone gets paid in USD
Can you write good quality software?
I mean, I'm not sure if I can be the judge of that. I have to solve a lot of various problems and document code regularly, but I haven't had to deploy many entire microservices, for example. I've mostly had to help maintain little things in springboot or do random things in databases with SQL. I have yet to be in a position where I have a genuine mentor who helps shape and grow my path.
Genuine mentors are rare, most people need to be their own mentor. Little things in Spring Boot and SQL is backend engineering proper. You need to emphasize the business impact from what you do though
