Where can I go from Retail @ Amazon

I’m currently approaching 18 months as an account manager and I’ve been put through hell and back. From the start it was apparent that the Senior VM had no idea what they were doing and passed all the work onto me and the other AM on the team. They would always say things like, “this isn’t hard”, “x person got it done in 5 minutes” and would just have a aggressive attitude questioning everything we did without really having a grip of how things are actually working on the back end. Even my skip consistently had to inform me that the daily survey results are surveying them and not the VM… Now onto my skip, aside from a horrible on boarding and Q4, I was put on focus 6 months into the job. I fought back hard saying I was told at how much I improved since I started. Also, learning to support 3 of our largest vendors, from home, without much help isn’t really doable in a short time frame. He knew pretty early on that I wanted to rotate whenever I’m eligible to something that aligns with my interests. I would be honest about my SVM and their attitude problem and many other little things. I put together the pieces after this and hated myself for being so honest with him. He was always nice and uninvolved with my work until Forte came around when he completely shifted into a cold cold person, put me on focus, told me during our third discussion meeting that he forgot to mention that I can’t rotate for at least another year or 18 months. And then he left the team, passing this mess to my next skip. My current skip is much better. But there was a period of time when my team just quit and left me to manage everything for 2 MONTHS. My skip was even more critical of my work and did not understand why I couldn’t stay stop everything for every vendor.. I then trained and continue to train my two new team members who get paid way more than me. This skip took me off focus but said I should leave the team because my review wouldn’t be amazing if he is basing it off the start of the new cycle. Even though my work life has improved ten fold with the skills I learned from all this, my category is doing much much better .. and of course actually having a team to work with, I think my skip is right. Sorry this turned into a rant but I am just so stuck. I’m getting more comfortable with the role and have been getting a better work life balance but I don’t see any room to get promoted or recognition for my efforts. I never even got a raise this cycle. There are so many teams im interested in like Amazon pharmacy, fresh, Alexa/devices, but it sucks to have this negative forte following me around. I’m also terrified of leaving and wasting the last 18 months when my RSUs start vesting soon.. TLDR: are any teams/companies looking for someone with a vendor management background. Does anyone have experience jumping from this role to another?

I have a buddy that moved on as an AM to a manufacturer and he loves it. Been there for 4 years now. The way I see it you have a few options: 1. Move to another e-tailer (e.g. Walmart, Target, etc) 2. Be an Amazon channel manager at a manufacturer (aka work for a vendor directly. Most would LOVE your background) 3. Find a way to get into a retail tech company (e.g. sales, product mgt, etc) Before you leave, make sure you understand what truly allows a vendor to grow on Amazon. The hardest growth as a vendor is typically beyond 100m. So what does it take to get from 100m to 200m? What about 500m?
