My predictions: - Facebook is around as a social media conglomerate, but changes name to whatever social media app is more popular now that it bought 5 years earlier - Amazon's solar delivery drones deliver across the Pacific Ocean. It's business success is similar to Google today - Netflix was bought by Time Warner in 2033 for $40 bil (about half its current value), because it provided ok tv and kept subscribers who were too lazy to cancel - Google is the new IBM. A commercial comes out comparing it to 1984 because it still tries to control everyone's thoughts, even though its culture lagged behind the times. Profits are ok only because "Nobody ever got fired for using Google" This prediction assumes Moore's Law stops working before 2030
Google is the new IBM? 100 bucks you failed the Google interview at least 2 times
It's going to be 50 years old by then. Old cultures are old, especially if they pride themselves on social innovation like diversity. Times change. I've never applied to Google because I heard everyone is overqualified for their position and it's become increasingly bureaucratic
This is a prediction for 2050, Google will certainly be the new IBM by then, name a company ~60 years old that is still sexy today?
In 2050 the only big players will be Amazon and Google. Also the year of the Linux desktop
If Google is the new IBM, what will be the IBM? I am pretty sure this tech grandpa won't die
N does not and never really did belong to FANG. It should be FAG or FAMG.
2050? In 2001 A Space Odyssey, they predicted we'd be talking to freaking sentient alien beings in the form of energy in the year 2001. It's 2017 and all we got was an orange buffoon capable of truly global catastrophe, who happens to be dumber than the rocks in that movie.
I think all of us will be dead by 2050 because of World War 3
The only letter in FANG that will remain in 2050 is G and it stands for Groupon. Cuz people will be poor as hell in the post-apocalyptic world.
What will be the apocalypse, you think?
Uber buys Google in 2027.
And changes their name to Goober
All go down hill and replaced or bought by newer companies.
My prediction is regulators will get on these companies cases, and you will see a large scale break up, most likely starting with something relating to Europe when foreign entites get sick of American corporations controlling the data of their citizens. I think you are spot on with Netflix, except it will be ComcastNBCUniversalCocaColaNike that buys them.
Lol How big do you think FAG will get?
I think countries are getting annoyed about data moving all into the US, while also watching china benefit from their walled garden approach to the internet, and will force the same for their countries.
