Where to buy a pro-camera?

Looking to spend a few thousands for a full frame mirrorless camera and some quality lens for personal portrait photo shoot. Have mostly decided on the model, but wondering where to buy from: manufacturer website, Amazon or other alternatives? What’s you experience, specially regarding tech support potentially come up in the future?

In case a problem happens with the purchase and need tech support after X years, how do they support?

No matter where you buy it, you will have to deal with manufacturer, the seller can only give a refund if it is a flawed unit. Let’s if you are buying Sony a7r3, you will have to call song wherever you buy it for support.

Find a friend in a sales-tax-free state like Oregon and ship it to them to save a bunch.

Adorama. Use topcashback and get 4 percent back too. BH has no cashback. No tax on both. Return policy if you are premium member is 45 days and you get one year of extended warranty from LEAF for free as a part of your membership. And yeah buy Nikon D850 over Canon Mark 4. You will not regret

He wants mirror less.

Doesn’t matter. Mirrorless with pro lenses weight about the same. Quality of DSLR is much better unless the use case is to do video shoots. Mirrorless may be better for videos. For the record: I am a pro

So, for me it was bh photos or adorama. Both tax free, excellent service, very knowledgeable staff. No tax is great especially when you are buying lenses worth 10k+. But the tax free thing just changed and they are going to collect taxes for WA.

Well they are tax free but they tell you that you should report the tax to irs.

Microsoft @zzz Nov 5, 2018

Well that used to be the case. Now they are required to collect taxes. Got an email from them.

Fuji if you wanna do mirrorless from scratch. Cheap glass and amazing quality. Nikon/ canon mirrorless if you have stock lens. I personally use fuji x100f as my travel camera and Nikon full frame. Best bet is you buy from B&H.. they have fantastic service. Sometimes you may be lucky finding adoramas store supply on amazon itself without tax! Try that too
