Been on the analyst -> analytics manager track doing basic predictive modelling, customer analytics and building business insight decks for 8 years. Skills include SAS, Python, SQL . I've had decent reviews in the past, but I've never been outstanding at any company I've worked, and these are banks..so I consider myself to be pretty average. Started in India, in Toronto right now, soon to be a Canadian citizen. Have my eyes on US (TN Visa) -> green card route. Honestly, I'm done with big orgs/ banks. I want to target Data Science Manager/ Product Manager/ consultant roles in Texas / Remote. Suggestions/ feedback on my trajectory and guidance on where to focus would really help. Look into "Data Product Manager" roles. Or if you want to do management still, consider DE management since that is complementary to BI
current role is closer to customer analytics/ product analytics with focus on business economics. stats meets decks..honestly, I don't know where this role sits... Data Product Manager sounds like a better fit..thanks :-)
There’s no TN->GC path. As an Indian you should know you will never get GC before you make any decision.
There is TN -> GC if you file it through employer sponsorship and change status at the right time... married to a Canadian, so cross chargeability..
Canadian and Country of birth=Canada are 2 different things in this context. If spouse is Canada born, you are golden. If India born it’s irrelevant.

Any Indians Think Kashmir Should be Independent?
Why not data engineer ? That could be a good transition
yes, considering doing one of those cloud certs to get a feel..but I've never done hardcore data engineering, so not sure I'll be a good fit
Focus on python, SQL and databases - not necessarily cloud certs
