SAP!=Uber

Walmart QTFP86 Sep 12, 2019

Uber engineers have lost a job not a courage to thrive in adverse situation. They would have gone through higher bar while hiring. Why you want to compare them with your SAP hiring bar OP? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Google LyLs67 Sep 12, 2019

Are you high or dumb?

Goldman Sachs GxEiu Sep 12, 2019

Wtf is SAP?

Microsoft lkiouytsb Sep 12, 2019

no, its not because they went to top schools but it is considered that Uber has comparatively high bar for hiring so people working there must be very good engineers (mostly not always). Not many people care about ur school after 1-2 years of experience. also as above comment said SAP != Uber 🤷🏼‍♂️

Cadence pretzle Sep 12, 2019

I don't know about SAP layoff, were the numbers comparable?

Apple woodkid Sep 12, 2019

Uber has a much better reputation as an engineering company compared to SAP. Many companies would be happy to hire people who have a better credibility of getting challenging work done, and Uber has a higher probability of providing such a set of candidates. It's less about the layoffs and more about talent poaching.

Uber on resume is not a red flag? 😟

Google qNGn73 Sep 12, 2019

Yup red flag that can get you Google

LinkedIn cd- Sep 12, 2019

Right, because Google loves bro culture. Got it.

Microsoft whatdidyou Sep 12, 2019

OP, I know what you are talking about and understand the feeling but don’t expect to see empathetic comments in Blind. Most of the comments are written by soulless engineers who are proud of themselves for being competitive and feeling like a winner despite the adversity as immigrants. These folks will be harsh. Little they know one day they will be in the same fate. It is amazing and comical to see these short sighted narrow visioned people posting advice and ugly comments.

Walmart QTFP86 Sep 12, 2019

Don’t know what you talking about! Lot of surveys says huge % of work force has seen firing in their career. Don’t be so sensitive, every one knows everyone is disposable and no more than commodity.

Intel iFail Sep 12, 2019

Uber has better talent than SAP.
