Which Order Should I Apply to Companies?

Hi, so I'm a new engineer right out of school with 0 years exp. I want to apply soon. Ideally I would like FAANG-like companies, but despite the fact I'm coming from a very good school, I know that statistically the odds are against me. Should I apply to FAANG-like companies first and get my rejections and then apply to my second tier choices? My fear is if I apply to all the companies at once I might reject a lesser known company only to realize it was my best option after the offer has expired. I am thinking I should get rejections to my top choices and then apply to the other choices a couple of weeks later. Does this seem logical?

If you have never interviewed before you will burn through three or four ... keep that in mind

Yeah, definitely prepared for several rejections.

Even very experienced software engineers can take 8-9 interviews before finding a match. Do not go straight at your #1 choice, organize your interviews to land your in persons all the same week or two and have your top choices in week 2.

Thanks, make sense. Is it true that you generally have a week to respond to offers at FAANG/other tech companies?
