Which bay area companies pay on par with Google and Facebook?
Hi, I am guessing there might be few more companies paying similar to the companies like Google and FB. I might start job search soon so collecting some data. Is there a list of such companies? Thanks for the help.
Almost all hot unicorns: Instacart Airbnb Coinbase Stripe DoorDash etc you name it.

False, CB pay is top notch.
Only if you level + 1 but that is easy if you come from FB/G. Otherwise pay is 15% less roughly and 401k etc is bad.
I know about E3-E5 numbers at both places..They are more or less same but yeah may be 10% off
Salesforce, at least at new grad and L4 levels
They don't have significant refreshers though.

Google doesn’t really pay that well. Most higher tier tech companies in Bay Area can pay on par if not more. My pay at Uber is around 20% higher than my friend at google same level.
their reputation is just so good that people just associate it with paying the best, like the halo effect
Well, they aren't top tier, but they still pay well. Plenty of L4s with ~3-5 yoe making 300k+ swes.
Uber. Friend at L5B around 750K. You should be L7+ at G.
Lyft pays extremely well
