Between faang. I’ve worked at all of them, and I think any one of them would get you an interview with other faangs. Curious how much resume value these companies have now especially they all hired pretty aggressively during the 2020 days. Especially curious what recruiters think.
If you’re talking to a normie, google. If you’re talking to someone in tech, NetFlix hands down
Why Netflix? All cash competitive TC? Their product and tech are meh
Yes, why Netflix? Do others agree? Netflix should be considered a small size company relative to others with their $250B mcap.
I’ve applied only a few times, but I’ve never heard from a Netflix recruiter.
Amazon has gained an increasingly bad reputation and recently was advised by a recruiter that having Amazon on your resume has little value
Netflix Tbh Google is overrated. And companies starting to see the reality of its coasting culture. U join Google if u wanna relax and make big bucks, which is awesome. But don’t expect career progression and learning. Interviewers at other companies are being cautious of Google engineers. Great with LC but sucks at design. For learning, go to tier-2 companies. U can come back as L7+.
Between Meta and Google, where would you prefer to go?
Meta. Source: 800k TC E5
Google if joined before 2010, meta and Netflix before 2015. After that value decreased as they hired a lot and bar dropped
IBM. Oops I mean Google
Like others have said, depends on who you ask. Normies probably think Google is top, while I would consider Netflix > Meta > Google/Apple > Amazon. Netflix is a great product and because they're smaller I tend to think they have less useless work for now. Meta is more intense than Google so I am led to think that their engineers have to work harder (and are paid a bit more). Amazon is at the bottom because they don't even get fed properly.
why meta > google? just cuz we are pressured to work more hours doesn’t mean we’re better engineers. also why the obsession with netflix?
I think most people that like their job would vote for their company. Given Netflix's size, I think Netflix actually wins most votes if you can only vote other companies
Blind rule #1 : Google wins any positive polls, Amazon wins any negative polls!
not nowadays
