I’ve thought the top 4 good companies with bad wlb are 1. Amazon 2. Uber 3. Apple 4. Facebook But based on the recent Blind postings, Uber is much better WLB these days in the meanwhile Facebook is becoming the worst. I’ve never worked any companies above. (Got offers couple of years ago from some of them but decided because of wlb). And now, I’m contacting some of recruits again and wondering if the situation has ever changed recently.
Don't know about that but I do know that Adobe had THE BEST work life balance in all of SF Bay Area when I used to work there.
How? Can you please elaborate? I have been reached out for a tpm role n then ghosted:)
No work to do = all life
How's Dropbox? Good WLB and career opportunities?
For the wlb probably not the best but good. Some people get stressed during their on call duties but it’s depending on how much you know about the things that your team is doing. For the career opportunity it’s depending on the team.
Want high TC but don't want to work for it?
There are companies showing good performance without overtime working. Actually I’m growing a lot when I have more free time and it helps not only myself but also the team and the company. But when I was chased by the heavy workloads, both my career path and the team performance got worse.
I believe engineers can make their best results when the workloads are right amounts.
...aaaaand Amazon wins again! 🤣
If you get a shitty manager at Uber who tries to show their "value" by burning out employees, enjoy the worst WLB in the bay area :)
