With Lyft, Stripe, Uber, Twitter and Meta all sufferring major casualties, which large cap tech firm is the next to get hit with mass layoffs?
I think all that pandemic hiring is going to be levelled
I'm getting laid off
I think we all are. Just a matter of time.
Fuck mass layoffs. Let's mass boycott the tech industry.
Yes, please. I want you to take the lead. Post on your LinkedIn and paste the link here.
Nice try corpo police
Amazon wont exactly have a mass layoff. Few teams here and there maybe.
We have the classic PIP that trims down 6% every year, plus the attrition rate is high af too.
Airbnb should be ok. We had pretty large layoffs in 2020.
But did you not hire most of them back?
Airbnb hired slowly during pandemic and is still way much than prepandemic level
Old skool like IBM jump the gun fastest in layoffs.
Meta
Yea Meta is not even on the list, OP what are you smoking?
Amazon doesn’t need to have any layoffs, their attrition is so high that a hiring freeze is effectively a layoff. If they do, you know the economy is going down in flames.
I would think attrition will be very low now
Honestly Salesforce. Huge, bloated employer and if sales go down ….
It’s just a matter of time until Salesforce sees layoffs but imo Google and Amazon overhired at a more significant rate so I wouldn’t be surprised to see mass layoffs there in the coming weeks.
Msft hc was 150K in 2019 and is now 220K.
