For AR, the Spectacles game from Snap is strong. I think them being Snap and not, say, Apple, is hurting them. The Snap social network doesn't seem solid enough for people to buy into their extended AR ecosystem. In terms of AR tech though, they're very solid, even within the main Snap app. For VR, doesn't seem like there's any strong competition to Oculus.
If you asked me two years or so ago I'd say Valve. Unless Apple has something completely hidden (possible but unlikely) FB will win hands down.
I’ve heard rumors that Apple is working on AR Apple Glasses that integrate with your phone
IMO we would likely see two different leaders in AR and VR market. Everyday consumer AR headsets will likely to be tightly integrated with your smartphone, so this space will probably be dominated by Apple in the iOS world and the likes of Google, Samsung, Facebook in the android world. Industrial, business, specific AR use cases will likely be led by Microsoft thanks to their existing expertise in the space and strong software offerings. When it comes to VR, Facebook seems to be leading and will probably continue to do so.
Crazy part is Magic Leap still makes a more competent headset than many of the ones you listed, yet won't even make it to polls at this point
VR - FB MR- Magic Leap, MSFT AR - Snap
Why do you feel AR Snap instead of Apple/Facebook? Curious
This is the only answer that seems to understand how the field is structured btw

Snap has a lot of potential but who the fuck knows, fb might rip off and destroy them.
If fb is capable of that, snap would be long gone.
