My impression is that it's a boring car most people are embarrassed to admit they own. But it sells a lot, so who buys it ?? Definitely not families and definitely not millennials.
I love it. Runs forever, easy to maintain. My ‘91 Corolla is running well (have had for 7 years) and so does the 2016.
Intelligent people who want cheaper, reliable and good car. People who think cars are for transporting its passenger from point A to point B in most economical and reliable way
I agree 100%
Yep that is why I own a similar cheap car. I want a reasonably safe vehicle that I don’t have to think about getting big repairs on for at least 8 to 10 years. The 15k I save on a car is worth a lot more if I put it in some investment while I’m still young.
Why is this not a poll?
Because I don't know all the poll options to put.
I bought a 2 year old corolla when I was 22. It was the smart decision at the time. a great car for someone who can't afford constant maintenance and wants decent sell back value down the road. I still drive the car 8 years later, but I'm not super proud that I still have it. I've just gotten so used to not having a car payment, but will probably sell the car this year and treat myself to something nicer.
Which demographics buy it though ??
People who are wise buy them. People who have minimal financial wisdom (think hodlers) don’t.
Personal opinion: I think you said it well.
Uber drivers
Because if you’re driving anything other than a Toyota what little gains you’re making is probably eaten up by maintaining your car. I bet Toyota’s are the only profitable cars to Uber with.
Corolla is lacking in a lot of features. So most techies would go for something like a camry. Non-techies or the people who have absolutely no interest in any of the goodies in a camry will buy a Corolla. If your salary is upwards of 100k, you should think of upgrading to a camry.
Okay
I work in tech and I love my camry as an everyday work car. My wife drives the Range Rover:) ofcourse.
I wouldn't buy one, but they're practical and affordable. They re the Glocks of the car world (I wouldn't buy a Glock either).
That's what I thought
@NASA What do you shoot?
