GPT-3 is taking tech twitter by storm. A lot of automation in frontend/web development has already started with wix, square space, no code, etc. What are the best fields of software engineering that wont be easily replaced by AI? And why?
None. FE will keep growing
Gpt3 is overhyped. It's just an upgraded gpt2, a significant improvement but not a revolutionary breakthrough.
Its a software engineers job to automate things. I personally wouldn't call the end result AI in most cases
Try getting your AI to write bare metal code.
Can AI solve LC? We’re all screwed when that happens.
Actually, it should be able to, yes. Most LC problems involve using a pattern, so it you train an AI on those patterns, it should be able to solve most LC’s
GPT3 is very good. It can build frontend code based on text entry—that is insane.
The big problem with low code today is that it works... until it doesn’t. It’s easy to hit the limits of Wix / Squarespace and end up going back to WordPress, where you get more customization back. The main jobs that are being lost are people who need simple storefronts, portfolios, etc. - and arguably these are people that might have never been able to hire a web dev in the first place. Contrary to most people’s opinions, frontend has gotten much more complex these days, the same way mobile has. Users expect native-like web interfaces, and the web platform really doesn’t provide too much about out of the box like mobile platforms do.
None of them, we are very from AI automating any of these fields.
