What’s the consensus on which type of interview is harder? I am a SWE and want to move away from having to leetcode/sys design prep, but I’m not sure how difficult PM case interviews are by comparison. #swe #product #pm
SWE is harder as an absolute interview but if you’re a strong candidates the result of the interview is easy to determine - if your solution runs you pass PM is easier as an absolute, but passing the interview and getting the job is harder because PM interview is easy for everyone and whether your answer is right or wrong often depends on the philosophy and thought process of your interviewer.
Makes sense. The issue with SWE interviews now is that there’s multiple rounds and if your solution isn’t perfect on one round you get rejected. LC hard is often a reject.
I concur that PM IVs are heavily dependent upon the philosophy of the HM.
PM. Two reasons. One. The supply and demand for PM is way more skewed in the company's favor, so they can be as nitpicky as they want. Two. There's no Leetcode prep. You just have to guess whether the interviewer wants to hear about the 4 C's in your answer, or the 4 P's. And he or she can reject you because they didn't like your face.

i worked with pms in a top 5 “most visited website” in the us, they are bs-ers, pixel monkeys
Seeing how bad most pms are, they are much easier
