Which new grad offer to take?

1. Return intern offer from FANG subsidiary (the one with poor refreshers). 180k TC in the bay area Smart people, small organization with a lot of impact and good wlb+pto. I feel like I could learn a lot about large scale distributed systems here. 2. Tableau. TC ~200k in washington Name brand not as well known but I will make way more, especially with the lower cost of living + no state tax +how rapidly their stock has grown. Much better refreshers, faster promotions and I wouldnt be surprised if I hit 250k by my second year. I've lived in California my whole life and prefer it there. I feel like I would learn a lot more from option 1 but the pay disparity is quite large. Thoughts?

I would go with Tableau. The difference in TC is too much and you can always leetcode and move to the bay area with better comp again.

Wtf since when is tableau such a high offer? Are you PhD or something?

Most of my comp is in stocks. The massive stock appreciation + my return offer as leverage made it pretty easy to hit that number

What is the tableau tc breakup?

Tableau.

If you like the tech stack with Tableau, go. Which one has poor refresher? I thought it ass Amazon which is considered with shitty wlb here on Blind.

Why not do FANG in Seattle (unless N)?

Amazon Jabberwook Jul 6, 2018

FANG without the N spells... oh never mind, too easy.

Tableau. I live in the bay area and work at tableau. Seattle is so inviting exciting and fresh, SF is expensive and difficult for newcomers. Palo Alto is nowhere I would ever want to live. The Fremont tableau office is beautiful and exciting. The company is doing well and doing the right things strategically, IMHO. Join us!
