Hi guys, can i get a piece of advice please ? I am a software engineer in Bay Area with a MS degree and have about one year experience since graduated from a well-known company. My work includes about 70% backend and about 30% frontend (both web and mobile). I plan to look for a new position which also focuses in backend, such as: platform, backend, infrastructure. The problem is I donโt know which level I should apply for: software engineer new grad or software engineer. Normally, job description for software engineer requires 2 or 3 plus years. I dont mind to apply for new grad positions, but looks like they donโt consider me new grad any more. Last year I got onsite interview with about 10 big companies in bay area for new grad, including google, facebook. This year I barely got one interview for new grad. Please help!!!
You didn't just graduate, so duh you aren't a new grad
I know, but normal software engineer position require 3+ yoe. It meant i am stuck at the middle of new grad and experienced software engineer.
So stay the course for a couple more years and then job hop ๐
