I've been working for a university for 3+ years as a DS. Looking forward to switching to big techs in ~1/1.5 years. I've looked into the JB of the Sr. DS postings from the big techs but seems like the requirements are all over the place - from dashboarding (Tableau) to deep learning (tensorflow, PyTorch), big data (PySpark, data brick), cloud (AWS/GCP) and some more. So trying to prioritize about which skills should I focus more to be eligible for a Sr. DS role? I'm looking for roles that would be more business focused and high visibility. Some details into my regular works to give some perspective about from where I'm trying to skill up: My regular works as a DS revolves around building ML models using off the shelf libraries, serving the models as API/app (Shiny), hypothesis testing (MLR/logit mostly), data wrangling (heavy SQL + some scripting for adv processing), designing data process and flow pipelines for production models, maintaining code repositories for existing model and analytics scripts. #datascience #career

Universities pay half eaten 🥜 😂 so not worthy mentioning
What type of DS role are you targeting?
Applied and closely tied to business users.
I can help with that. DM me
Depends on the org. Check out the circular web graphs on interview query or other TDS/Medium articles.
I’m interested as well. I’m looking to jump ship in another 4-6 months
You seem to be in a rush! Good luck, mate!
Thanks. Good luck to you too op
