Given the current chaos.... what if a large, more experienced car manufacturer bought Tesla and their technology? http://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-elon-musk-goes-to-court-and-deliveries-fall-in-one-terrible-week-2019-4
Tesla will buy one car company
Lol with what money, given their cash flow?
Apple
Google if ever tesla is reaching a point of bankruptcy . Musk has good relationships with Google's founders.
Apple
Its not cheap or valued too much on optimism. Elon is not making it any better.
not as long as Elon is around
VW
What's the asset that some buyer might want? IP? Staff? Factories? Revenue? Debt? Brand? Manufacturing expertise? C-staff? Design? I see nothing of value to warrant a purchase by a mainline car company. If the company becomes a bargain x years from now, potentially a self-driving tech company or autonomous truck company could drive value from owning e-cars...
Charging network, battery technology, factories, autopilot technology.
This ^ Plus, I’d add the brand. What a buyer could bring: better manufacturing processes (more efficient and with better quality), access to dealerships and services, better management.
