edit: I’m mostly joking, like I’m not gonna lose sleep over it but it’s really funny how unprofessional one can be. I know the market has turned but no need to be an asshole. This guy emailed me after a replied to his email saying I would like to chat. I was laid off in November and couldn’t start looking until February because my first kid was born in December and other life stuff. How is a 3 months gap gonna make a difference in a 15 years career you asshole? It’s also none of your business I could have had any number of personal issues.
Exactly we need a shittyrecruiterfyi for ghosted recruiters
Let’s do it
Gotghosted.fyi exists
What’s wrong with saying you took the opportunity to bond with your newborn? If a company can’t respect that a father would take time to be with his child and help his sleep deprived wife- it says more about the company.
Nothing wrong about saying this: that’s what I usually say,m. But why is he asking though? How is that anyone’s problem? Do I have the skills? Am I ready to work? Am I a culture fit? Do I need sponsorship? I’ll answer all these questions but don’t ask me what I do when I’m not working. Not your business.
Spotted the parent who tries to offload their work to teammates. It's either legitimate to have a gap or not, agree with OP the reason is nobody's business.
i would just say you’ve been dealing with anger issues
Just thinking about my next victim lol
This is how consultancy job works . Just answer what they ask if you need job. Understand that even they are not doing deliberately they are doing what they are asked to do else they might loose job .
“Are you available to start immediately?”
Just based on this single screenshot it’s hard to capture intent behind a question like that
Be my guest: come up with a professional/good reason to ask. I’m open to changing my mind if you come up with one.
This question could easily be interpreted as a “hey how are you?” type of question. Without more context its hard to say. But just looking at this I wouldn’t read more into it.
Stop lying. You were selling drugs weren't you? 😂 Seriously, why take this question so personally? (Though I do understand why it's annoying.) They just have to account for gaps. Doesn't it happen to everyone?
I’m mostly joking. I can just look past it but I think it’s not cool to be forced into a personal conversation like this. I’ve talked to dozen of recruiters in my life. It’s also not my first gap. They usually ask “ are you still at xyz”? Because that can matter for my immediate availability but asking me this way is unprofessional
They’re trying to fill out fields in their sourcer’s form. “Current employer” is one. Don’t overthink it, they don’t care .
“What is your current employer?” “Are you available to start immediately?” “Are you still at XYZ?”
Why is this triggering you? Yeah maybe a wrong question. But it isn’t that offensive at all that you are swearing like this.
I’m mostly joking. You know job search is stressful trying to blow some steam
Lol. I understand man 🙈 Been job searching since 2 months myself 😬
It’s not recruiter. It’s a consultant or also called as body shopper.
