Which company makes the best cars IN your opinion? Feel free to put reasons below
What do you mean by best? That definition is different for each person
Lucid Motors
Too soon
I don’t see NIO in the list ;)
Best = desired, probably Tesla. No other automaker can beat them on pure brand. But best car as in best experience start to finish... BMW, Mercedes, or Audi. Audi is my pick. Honorable mentions to Hyundai Ford and GM for their pushing of tech into mainline cars - not infotainment but useful things like remote start, cross detect etc.
You’d pick Audi over bmw? That’s very interesting, I love vw, but I think bmw m cars are more fun
I would also pick audi over bmw for overall package. VW are also good but getting beaten by other makers (mazda, hyundai) in overall package at a lower price points. For that matter, love genesis cars.
Narrator: Excluding FCA from the poll was not a good idea. Just an FYI, we put electric motors in production trucks before anyone else. https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a22815325/2019-ram-1500-etorque-hybrid-pickup-drive/
Agreed FCA shouldn’t be off the list. But you were not the first to put electric motors in trucks. GM had hybrid SUVs, and a small amount of last generation silverados sold with the BAS e-torque system
You can buy our trucks today with etorque. Can you say the same about the Chevy?
So much that goes into this. Safety. Driving performance. Reliability. Dealer experience pre and post-sale. Serviceability. I won’t buy a Tesla until they have their supply chain sorted out such that a simple fender bender won’t take my car off the road for months. I won’t buy another BMW cos their dealers are frankly, @$$holes. Lexus are just plain ugly. Mercedes for me.
I agree with you some of our dealers are tools :( Lexus is looks really bad Benz - i really use to like them but the the design in the last year they are starting to look like kia.. don't know why they did that. Tesla - gold tech but needa to work on car quality Overall - Japanese if you want car to go feom point A to B and care about reliability and easy to work on. BMW - If you care about performance and power and driving enthusiasts. Tesla - for the tech! That's my summary
My last trip to a BMW dealer I went in comfy clothes (shorts and t-shirt) they had a car I wanted on the lot. Salesman let me sit in it. Didn’t offer a test drive. Went to my Benz dealer in the same outfit, they let me drive three different models. I bought a Benz. Test drives sell cars. Test sits do not.
Tesla obviously
Cute :)
Open a consumer reports. Tesla reliability blood bath. (I even say that as a shareholder)
Where's Porsche? Don't say it's part of VW group. I own a model 3 and absolutely love it but I think in general Porsche makes great cars. 911, Macan, Panamera and now Taycan.
Why is everyone obsessed with Tesla? There are tons of articles on the bad built quality
Most of them are fake news, Tesla is miles apart from other cars, only company which can improve the performance of their cars with an over the air update, let that sink in.
Well some people may be happier installing a turbo kit or nitrous for performance as opposed to an OTA update
Any Toyota is good. GM is good if you buy higher end. I also have a Honda. Meh on the Honda. I don't work in manufacturing, just my opinion and personal experience.

What do you mean by “best” is the most important question.
Biggest, obviously
