Who pays well for generalist DS?
The fun generalist DS jobs in tech companies are harder to get than SWE and pay less. What are the better places to work as a generalist DS?

This. You will never make as much as a SWE, but you have to know everything about stats, SQL, experimentation, causal inference... Meh. Learn hardcore ML and switch to MLE.
