At Amazon my Wlb is not terrible always but sometimes it is. Heard Microsoft is much better for coasting. But TCs are terribly low. Wondering what’s Google is doing which other companies aren’t. Are they so much profitable that they can afford employees to chill and give them high salaries? Or are there few teams there carrying weight for everyone else? Thoughts? TC: 220k
Yup. It’s all about margin.
Hiring best talent without shady yoy 15% rsu hike ponzi scam and give trust on employee to make them to produce best outputs
They make a lot of money because of an unethical monopoly on search so they can afford anything
what’s “unethical” - please do share LOL
Just keep drinking the kool aid and try not to stretch your brain too much
Maybe it's the same reason countries trialling the four day work week have recorded no loss of productivity. If you all agree to get the day's work done at a certain time then maybe you can.
Btw Msft can pay better than your current TC
How? For Scientist roles?
Yoe?
Monopoly?
Ads pays for literally everyone and thrice over
Heard it is only good for people who have been there for a while ( L5 ) and know the ins and outs
Yeah have heard it is rat race for promotions from L4 and L3
Agreed. Most of my team members including me work hard 😓.
i think it is google’s culture. aside from perf, everybody is super chill and the environment is generally pleasant.
I think google is end point in terms of career for stability, until now i was always preparing to get into google , now that i am into, i am focused on getting knowledge of tools and focusing on actual work instead of switching. many of my friends used most of their time to get out of that company and doing barely minimum, while in google they are giving their complete.
we’re built different. what other people use 75% of their brainpower on, i only need to use 1%
Ok no need to be cocky… I know at least a dozen folks from Google. Many of them switched from Amazon. So I know it’s not about Built Different.
MC is from Amazon
