Netflix market cap is almost $80B as of today. To buy it, Microsoft would have to offer something well over that, say $100B. Their most expensive acquisition to date was Activision Blizzard at $68B and you might remember how many investors cried about that. So they won't acquire Netflix but there are plenty of other good companies in a good price range so I won't be surprised to some Microsoft or other FAANG acquisitions in the near future. In the meantime, Microsoft and Netflix are both probably happy with the upcoming ad-tier offering and revenue split π€ Now I'm just a SWE, but I wouldn't mind if anyone wants to offer me a finance or investment banking job with higher pay, thank you ππ° TC 240K
unfortunately netflix is no longer a tech company since they are competing mostly content. everyone is scaling video player just fine these days, even disney HBO
AWS killed Netflix
You are below pay grade to think outside your job
π€ you and I agree on this point, much like the Microsoft-Netflix partnership. And that's why I want to go into investment banking π
Youβd be a great buzzfeed writer. This was the most click-baity subject line Iβve seen here in a long time. Great job!
Netflix runs on AWS....switching the entire infrastructure to Azure is a No-Go.
Agree, I think Netflix will continue to run their cloud infra on AWS, too much work to move that. They will likely only have Microsoft Ads handle the ad-tier solution.
You guys think too much. We don't want to be bought. We have partnerships with all major tech companies in some way
Why would anyone buy Netflix? Itβs a sinking ship. Do you really want another season of Stranger Things?
I wouldnβt mind if they buy Roblox for $80-100B. Anything less than that, though, I would
Netflix is the next blockbuster ππ»ββοΈ
