Asians - what are your thoughts on asian female white male ?
A lot of my friends who worked in amazon for more than 4 years are handed focus or pip. If enforcing URA is taken strictly why not just lay them off. They anyways get the same severance if they decide to not do pip tasks. Amazon can at least save them from the mental harassment. L5 TPM 195K
They are “decimating”
Layoff is more expensive for company since you are on a payrol for 2 months as opposed to shorter duration of pip.
Well focus + pip will be at least 2 months as well. Probably even more if people are working on focus plans and are crushing it.
I believe they also pay unemployment insurance, and the more people they lay off, the higher the cost (insurance, benefits, 2months salary) versus a single lump sum payout Someone correct me if I’m wrong though
That would be because you work at Amazon
Frugality and LE-adership failure. It’s cheaper to PIP than to Layoff due to WARN regulations and less Layoff announcements also mean less damage to the share price. LE-adership TC package has a very heavy stock component so any negative share hit means they collect less blood money when they vest shares. LE-adership of the PIP Factory love to believe that they are ‘Right a Lot’ and that they make the right LE-adership ‘Judgement Calls’ therefore heavy PIP of workforce is a worker performance issue rather than Layoffs which are announcing publicly a business issue. Money and Ego… Money and Ego… PIP Factory LE-adership have the most fundamentally craven drivers.
The cruelty is the point
I like to be flayed before getting beheaded
More seriously, the PIP gives amzn a bit of cover, document stuff, look like the victim was give a fair shot
