I have always been in Tech and since last 2 year since market was in a bull run , I am sure there were many Hedge funds and IB investors who would have made fortunes for their company and also massive bonuses, why are there no stories around it on Internet, why do we only see tech chaps crying out loud for there basic 500k salary and 2M in Net worth #investment #bank #bonus
Pretty sure the finance bros who are making $$$$ aren’t running to blind / the internet to gloat about it. If they are, they’re usually the bottom of the totem pole ppt monkeys who are bragging about it.
Also finance has the worst WLB you could even imagine so they have no time for Blind
There are lots of stories. I see them on the Bloomberg terminal all the time. All the top banks got into a talent war for junior bankers last year and raised starting pay significantly. There's also stories about which banks have what size bonus pools, how much that's up or down from last year, or even about individual comp if it's really noteworthy. But it's kind of niche, if you just read mainstream news sources and tech news/blogs, why would you hear about it?
Blind is mostly for tech. I think ibankers are on wall street oasis and fishbowl.
1. Because blind is the tech app. 2. Tech people are significantly higher in number than IB or hedge fund people, maybe an order higher 3. Tech is a more open industry. You can be from any industry and move into tech, not the other way around 4. Hedge fund guys get big bonus. Tech guys get big stocks. Stock market had been doing well until a few months ago 5. I know hedge fund people who don't want to move into tech because tech wouldn't be able to match their numbers. They are at 2M with 7-8 yoe. Our sample size is small maybe.
Bonuses are performance based. If you brag about it we can easily find who you are?
There are far less people earning these large sums than tech chaps earning “high TC”.
