Amazon is known as PIP factory and there are numerous stories that people are hired just to be fired to protect the real full timers. So why are you still applying and interviewing there? Especially true for junior roles. I don’t get it. Isn’t this insanity?
Tripled my salary -> don’t need to last long to come out ahead financially. Resume boost + clout vs a no name
A job is a job. Have you seen how many people have been laid off this year?
Because Amazon is paying high cash TC for the first two years with low risk. And 90% won’t ever face pip. Those are great odds
Everywhere except for apple will inevitably become a pip factory or a layoff factory (or both) At least at Amazon you’ll get a lot of cash for the first 2 years
I’m on H1B and i already sold my soul to USCIS
Amazon is under a hiring freeze, no? They are not hiring right now
Even if I get piped in 1 year (I think I can make it that long at least) I would make more than i would in my current role for 2, and could just boomerang back for a senior position.
Because people think stock = salary
Getting in for the huge severance or pip payout obv. 1 month of onboarding and 50k in the pocket.
