TC: 115k My son wanted to watch the oldest video of his favorite YouTuber. I haven’t been on YouTube for a few months since I’ve been busy but I went to the creators channel, then videos, and I noticed that there are only two video view settings now “recently uploaded” and “popular” WHY DID YOUTUBE GET RID OF 'Sort by' and 'Date added (oldest)'?? I’m a growth marketer and I always listen to my audience for feedback to make sure they are having the best experience possible with us or we can provide solutions to their problems. Is YouTube literally not taking into account their audience? Why would they do such a thing? I’m tagging Google and YouTube directly as I definitely want answers. #google #youtube
Probably so that they can send old/unpopular videos to the nether for slower but cheaper access in memory which at the scale of Google probably saves a few million a month lmaoo
Because not have to query for prehistoric videos reduced complexity.
Sorting by a single field isn’t complex
