Are there any reasons they embrace earning π₯ over π΅π΅π΅
Because lemons are better than modified, injected oranges! π
What is this about?
The reason is people actually want to live a life instead of dancing on capitalistic bandwagon and then eventually dying
Because they like Totalitarianism.
honestly not a bad deal for the 2-3mo PTO
Because a lot of the quality of life things we chase money for are already covered: Infrastructure, security, education, medical, day cares, transit, time off etc etc. Unlike US where you need to earn 500k just to be able to afford a good school, day care, nanny and live like a pansy in a gated community.
You sound angry and homophobic. Europe sounds delightful. Great job proving OP wrong. /s
I could only speak for England: childcare is expensive, in London nursery will cost you about Β£8k a year. Healthcare, the NHS is great for some stuff, e.g. you get in an accident and they are fairly efficient at patching you up but cataracts, a sports injury? Good luck you'll be waiting months if not years (and it's been like that for as long as I've known it, goes right back to the 90's). As a well paid engineer I dare say your healthcare package would be a lot better in the US. However from what I understand the healthcare is tied to the job rather than you having a separate policy - that would kind of suck when looking for new jobs IMO
Because they voted for that shit.
Because we cant get work visa to USA.
People tend to live and work in the countries they are born. That's their default behavior. The ones who migrate for economic reasons are the exception, not the norm.
Good reasonable answer, refreshing in this thread

Becase WLB triumphs everything
You still work like slave in Europe, why bother
@OP In Germany the average worker gets 25-30 days of PTO per year. Tech companies typically offer even more (2-3 months is not unheard of). Add on top of that the 3-6 month sabbaticals that people take every couple of years, and you've got a much better WLB than in the US. Money can't buy that.
