Why do Snap, Twitter, Apple, TikTok use Google Cloud?
Why do the Google competitors, people who compete with them for ad dollars, use GCP? You would think they would want to use anyone but Google. Just like Walmart doesn't want to fund their competitor, Amazon, by using their cloud services. It isn't the tech. Most of these guys just buy boat loads of object storage which is a commodity. Retrieval rates aren't even that big of a deal for most use cases. What is going on? TC - $260k
End of the day it's business. they might have got a spectacular deal from GCP compared to AWS or Azure

BLOB is about 95% of the spend for a service like Apple iCloud. It is just storage.
Cloud - most overloaded term ever What do you mean when you say “use GCP”? Do you mean compute, database, some biz application etc? what exactly? Often times, a company will use like tiny bit of some cloud provider and announce they are using XYZ cloud, just to be “good” partners.
Multicloud is a joke, everyone is still single provider
It’s actually reality, different parts and teams of companies use different cloud or on prem.
Apple also uses AWS. I don't think any major firm uses just one cloud provider

AWS isn't competing with retailers either, but none of the major retailers will touch it.
For example, Salesforce doesn't use Azure and instead uses both AWS and GCP.
That makes sense. Microsoft is their competitor in CRM. AWS and Google are their customers.

Netflix uses AWS which is also used by Amazon prime
Also weird... but that one I kind of get that one because they built it on AWS prior to Prime Video. Probably a big lift to migrate away.
That was some talk that Netflix was going to drop AWS awhile back because of Prime Video, but not sure if anything came of that.
Because all things considered, it was the best available option for them.
